In approaching A.I., humans must exercise moderation in the form of slow, progressive change.
There is much to benefit from and much to be cautious of when it comes to A.I. By slow, progressive change, experts mean the implementation of sensible barriers on Artificial Intelligence research that don't stifle progress. Yes, A.I. is necessary, but humans must find a way so that the risk of adverse effects are lessened. To do this requires further research in to the field. As of now, it is difficult to determine whether A.I. is indeed a danger or a blessing to humanity since government institutions have not actively placed barriers on research.

In support of uninhibited progress in Artificial Intelligence, it is a fact of life to say that there is no way to “unlearn” or reset the discovery of knowledge. The increasingly digital world that we all live in has new problems that only we can solve. From climate change to the threat of famine, Artificial Intelligence ties everything together from data analytics to machine operations. A.I., whether people like it or not, provides us room to think about the big picture of whatever situation we find ourselves in. On the other hand, we must consider the socio-economic impact Artificial Intelligence will have in the future. In a capitalistic society such as the United States and most countries in the world today, revenue has always been the main goal of people in business. Since it’s less expensive to buy machines, human workers will be forced to leave their jobs. A drastic increase of unemployment will worsen the current gap between the rich and the poor and will also breed overall tensions between the classes. In addition, machines don't have the moral foundation embedded in them to make sensitive decisions that require a complicated understanding that only humans carry. Whether it is possible to program emotions in to machines or not, the situation begs to question whether machines should have them in the first place.
When it comes to A.I., it is safe to say that moderation is relative to where a person stands in the controversy. There are those that lean towards encouragement and those towards discouragement. As it is early in the development of Artificial Intelligence, there is no definite measurement of moderating research. Deciding policy related to A.I. must acknowledge progress and caution at the same time. In moving past possible scenarios, it is important for those in positions of authority to have moderation in mind.
